The F-Gas Regulation governs fluorinated greenhouse gases used as refrigerants. Operators of stationary refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment must prevent leaks and keep records for each system.
Leak checks and frequency
Frequency depends on the CO2-equivalent charge of the system: broadly at least every 12 months for systems of 5 tonnes CO2e or more, more often for larger charges, with a fixed leak-detection system reducing the required frequency.
Records you must keep
- Refrigerant type and quantity per system
- Dates and results of leak checks
- Quantities of refrigerant added or recovered
- The certified company or technician who did the work
TM44 air-conditioning inspections
Air-conditioning systems above 12 kW must be inspected by an accredited energy assessor under TM44, at intervals not exceeding five years, producing a report with recommendations to improve efficiency.
F-Gas on CertFlow
CertFlow tracks the refrigerant charge per system, sets the leak-check frequency automatically from the CO2e charge, and keeps the logs and TM44 reports audit-ready.
