A spreadsheet rarely enforces a consistent inspection workflow. It cannot reliably prevent a user from changing a date, overwriting a status or working from an outdated version. Implementation matters too. A system with every possible feature is not automatically the best fit if engineers will avoid using it. Templates need to reflect real site work, defect catalogues need to be practical, and mobile workflows must be quick enough for field conditions.
